Burst Bot
The world fell apart. Nobody knows how it started. You are trapped. You wake up full of rage and you need to destroy...but you also want to escape. Find anything you can and turn it to ash, make your way out of...whatever this is...
This is an actual Atari Lynx game, so you will need an Atari Lynx emulator to play it or use one of the many Flash/SD or Homebrew carts to play it on a real Lynx.
About
This game is made for the LynxJam 2024 game jam, a 3 week long game jam without final rankings for no other purpose but to have some fun and make some Xmas cheer!
How to Play
Almost a classic platformer - you can move left and right. You can explode. Master your explosion ability and you will be able to leap to new heights! There is an explosion timeout so you can gather your energy to explode more.
The 'reset' button combination (OPT1 + PAUSE) will restart the current level.
Music on/off - OPT 2.
Level Editor
Burst Bot levels are hand made using a level editor that's built to run right in your web browser. At the moment the editor is a little clunky but it will be getting an update in the future so that it's click-and-drag instead of having to type everything in.
In the editor, you can see the full level layout (512px x 256px), as well as a 4x zoom of where your mouse pointer is hovering over the level. The object list lets you add an object to the level, which can then be edited with its position and other attributes.
At the moment the level editor is not available publicly.
Atari Lynx Development
If you are interested in developing your own games for Atari Lynx, check out the Lynx Dev Wiki. Lynx is one of the easiest retro game consoles to get started coding with, so if you have an idea for a game, don't hold back, code it for the Lynx!

I love all the little ways you used the Lynx to create effects, from the bitdepth switch to (I assume) disabling clearing when teleporting!
Thank you! Also the HOFF/VOFF for scrolling and explosion shakes. Once I ditch TGI, I’ll make use of the monochrome mode too.
